Clean Planet Energy has today released the first public visuals of its flagship UK ecoPlant, currently under construction in Teesside (NE England).

The new 3D video walkthrough offers a first glimpse of the advanced recycling facility, which will play a critical role in converting hard-to-recycle plastics into circular petrochemical feedstocks, with commissioning currently on schedule for 2026.

Once operational, the Teesside ecoPlant will process up to 24,000 tonnes of previously non-recyclable plastic waste per year. This is plastic that would otherwise be sent to landfill, incinerated, or worse left to pollute our environment. Instead, the facility will transform this waste into Purified Pyrolysis Oil, providing an alternative to virgin fossil fuels for the petrochemical industry, supporting a circular economy in the UK.

“The world needs smarter solutions for the plastic waste crisis. With a Clean Planet ecoPlant, we’re showing that it’s both possible and scalable to begin fixing this major problem. Giving people the chance to fly through the facility helps us bring the solution closer to everyone, and gives hope to those who think the planet only sits at the end of a losing battle,” said Bertie Stephens, CEO at Clean Planet Energy.

The Teesside plant is designed to:

♻️ Recycle 24,000+ tonnes of hard-to-recycle plastic waste annually

🛢️ Produce circular feedstock for the petrochemical industry, enabling new plastics to be made without the use of virgin fossil oil.

📉 Prevent plastic from polluting land, sea, or being incinerated

👷🏽‍♀️ Create 100+ green jobs in the Tees Valley (Construction + Operation).

🌍 Support a cleaner, local energy transition

As construction progresses, Clean Planet Energy will continue to share updates on the development milestones, community engagement, and long-term environmental impact of the Teesside ecoPlant.
