Ellie Ment the only children’s title recognised in Best Fiction Series at the 30th IPPY Awards

The Clean Planet Foundation is proud to share that their Ellie Ment novel series has received international recognition at the 2026 Independent Publisher Book Awards, widely known as the IPPY Awards.
Ellie Ment was the only children’s or young adult title recognised in the Best Fiction Series category at this year’s awards.
The recognition comes in the IPPY Awards’ 30th year. Established in 1996, the awards are widely regarded as the world’s leading book awards for independent publishing and university presses. Each year, more than one million independent books are published worldwide, and the IPPY Awards considers thousands of entries.
The IPPY awards described the Ellie Ment Series as having “outstanding quality and creativity”, and celebrated the “remarkable contribution to independent publishing”.
For the Clean Planet Foundation's Ellie Ment series, this recognition reflects the growing strength of a series built to combine exciting storytelling with real science, environmental ideas and a clear educational purpose.
Mixing Science and Environmentalism with Entertainment
The Ellie Ment series follows Ellie, a curious, impulsive and determined young protagonist, as she investigates scientific mysteries and environmental challenges through fast-paced adventure, humour and real-world ideas.
The series was created to make science feel exciting, imaginative and accessible. Rather than presenting environmental issues as distant or difficult, the Ellie Ment series places young readers at the heart of stories where curiosity matters, questions are encouraged, and big problems can be tackled with courage, creativity and knowledge.
Further recognition on an international stage
In 2025 the first book in the Ellie Ment series won the prestigious Children's Moonbeam Awards, and today being recognised at the 30th IPPY Awards marks an important step for Ellie Ment as the series continues to grow its audience among families, schools, libraries and young readers.
