Clean Planet Technologies is pleased to announce that it has joined Sustainable Aviation, the UK industry coalition dedicated to supporting the transition towards a more sustainable aviation sector.
The aviation industry faces one of the most significant decarbonisation challenges of any transport sector. Achieving net-zero ambitions will require a combination of technologies, supportive policy frameworks, investment, and collaboration across the entire value chain. Sustainable Aviation brings together airlines, airports, aerospace manufacturers, fuel producers, technology developers, and other industry stakeholders to help accelerate this transition.

Joining Sustainable Aviation marks an important milestone for Clean Planet Technologies as the company continues to advance its plastics-to-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) technology following the recent launch of its Sustainability Innovation Centre in Kent.
Clean Planet Technologies believe that non-recyclable waste plastics can play a valuable role in supporting the production of lower-carbon aviation fuels while helping address waste streams that are otherwise difficult to recycle. By transforming these materials into valuable products through advanced conversion technologies, CPTech aims to contribute to both aviation decarbonisation and the circular economy.

Dr Katerina Garyfalou, Chief Operating Officer of Clean Planet Technologies, commented:
"Sustainable Aviation Fuel will require scalable solutions, collaboration across the value chain, and the confidence to support emerging technologies. We are proud to join Sustainable Aviation at a time when the UK has the opportunity to become a global leader in SAF innovation. At Clean Planet Technologies, we are focused on demonstrating that non-recyclable waste plastics can contribute to the future of lower-carbon aviation while supporting circularity and reducing difficult waste streams."
Duncan McCourt, Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Aviation, added:
"We are delighted to welcome Clean Planet Technologies to Sustainable Aviation. Innovation across a range of SAF pathways will be essential to achieving the aviation sector’s decarbonisation ambitions, and we look forward to working with Clean Planet Technologies as they continue developing their plastics-to-SAF technology in the UK."
The UK has established itself as a leading market for SAF development through supportive policies, innovation funding, and growing industry engagement. As momentum continues to build, collaboration between technology developers, fuel producers, airlines, and policymakers will be critical to scaling sustainable aviation fuel production and achieving long-term decarbonisation goals.

As Clean Planet Technologies continues to advance the Plastics-to-SAF pathway, it is focused on demonstrating how non-recyclable waste plastics can become a valuable feedstock for the production of lower-carbon aviation fuels. Following the launch of the Sustainability Innovation Centre in Kent, the world's first pilot facility dedicated to converting waste plastics into SAF, CPTech are progressing fuel qualification activities through the UK SAF Clearing House programme and supporting the development of the wider ASTM approval pathway for plastics-derived SAF.
Clean Planet Technologies look forward to working alongside fellow Sustainable Aviation members to help accelerate the development and deployment of SAF technologies in the UK and internationally.

About Sustainable Aviation
Sustainable Aviation is the UK's leading aviation sustainability coalition, bringing together airlines, airports, aerospace manufacturers, fuel producers and industry partners to support the decarbonisation of aviation. The coalition works across a range of areas including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), airspace modernisation, aircraft technology, operational efficiency and carbon removals, helping to shape the pathway towards net zero aviation. Through collaboration across the aviation value chain, Sustainable Aviation aims to support the delivery of practical and scalable solutions that enable the sector to meet its environmental ambitions while continuing to connect people, businesses and economies.
