Updated: Apr 11, 2023

Clean Planet, in collaboration with their EPCM, Stopford, has been successful in the ACTIVE Cup challenge 2021, placing fourth overall in the virtual project management cup, including being one of only 3 teams who ended their project scenario in-profit.

The team client collaboration, between Clean Planet Energy (CPE) and Stopford (SEE) was a first for the ACTIVE Cup, with CPE’s Project and Operations Director, Marta Marjan, and Daniel Odjo, CPE’s Project Engineer taking part form Clean Planet Energy’s side.

Organised by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), the simulated construction project is run in collaboration with Cranfield School of Management as part of a wider project management training initiative within the engineering construction industry. The virtual events were held over four and a half days.

The teams were required to manage a fixed price Environmental Defence Project, during which they had all tendered successfully for the construction of a high technology environmental monitoring centre located along a stretch of an environmentally damaged South American river.

The competition came from other teams from companies located throughout the UK.

Marta Marjan, Clean Planet Energy’s Projects and Operations Director, who also received special recommendation for her outputs during the virtual banking meetings, spoke about the intensity of the week, saying that:

“the near 5-day event was challenging, but that challenge was made enjoyable by the heightened collaboration we were able to have with our longstanding EPCM Partners, Stopford”.

Both CPE and Stopford look forward to taking part in future ACTIVE Cup’s.
